Galentine’s Day: Flowers vs. Food

Hello there!

Another year where the commercial holiday of Valentine’s Day gets in the way of the real celebration: all of the chocolate martinis and heart shaped baked goodies a woman could ask for!

The Coffee Factory (Muskegon, MI)

The Coffee Factory is one of those places where you come for the drinks, but you stay for the ambiance. Under new ownership, this buzzing coffee shop is always decked out from head to toe in decorations and stringing lights. Their cases were filled with Valentine’s Day weekend treats that ranged from vegan homemade donuts, to homemade chocolate whoopie pies.

The Cupid Cappuccino (bottom picture) was a frothy cloud of roses. This small coffee drink consisted of espresso, rose syrup, white chocolate, and milk of your choice. My friend ordered their Single Ladies cupcake (came with a ring pop, so why not?), and the Secret Admirer Steamer: Chocolate, strawberry syrup, milk. She added decaf espresso. Other yummy coffee drinks features: Sweetheart Pink White Chocolate, Love Potion Latte, My Crazy (ex) Latte. ❤

Aldea Coffee (Muskegon, MI)

This Rose Cardamom Latte was just lovely for a brisk Sunday morning. With a touch of rose, spices, and vanilla this latte was perfectly paired with a box of heart shaped chocolates. Aldea coffee works with individual farmers seeking to develop, grow, and process various unique coffee blends for sourced speciality coffee.

Paisley Pig (Grand Haven, MI)

The Paisley Pig is known for serving up finger licking comfort food with a southern twist. Not only is their food amazing, but their cocktail list has one of the best Espresso Martini that I have ever had called, the Inner Circle: Van Goh Double Espresso Vodka, Jackson Morgan Brown Sugar & Cinnamon Southern Cream, Dr. McGillicuddy’s Raw Vanilla, Freshly Grated Nutmeg, Served Up. You honestly cannot go wrong with any of their cocktails or food items.

Yummy Delights (Muskegon, MI)

You may remember Yummy Delights when we featured them on the Muskegon Channel and on the blog “Get Ready to be Delighted“. Yummy Delights decided to turn things up a notch when they decided to create huge chocolate teddy bears filled with chocolate candies, and a mini hammer to break it. I opted to order their variety box, filled with chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered pretzels, a chocolate cake filled heart, and a cocoa bomb teddy bear with a side of marshmallows. The ultimate “treat yo’ self” box. Take all of my money!
